Patterns at Windlesham Arboretum

Folly roof at Windlesham Arboretum © 2005 Natasha Forder

A passer-by at the ruined temple may sit and wait,
Looking out upon the trees and calm silver lake,
At the top of a set of ornamental steps I find,
A detailed artefact whose shadow is of strong curved lines,
A folly with its delicate roof behind which the blue sky awaits,
Will give way to the dark blanket of night when the day draws late.
